The important thing in science is not so much to obtain new facts as to discover new ways of thinking about them. ~William Lawrence Bragg Group Evaluation Scaffold

What role(s) did you take on for this assignment? Throughout the whole assignment, I did the questions “What parts make up the Circulatory system? and Why do we need the Circulatory System? I also did the find-a-word for the class handout sheets. What did you like about working as a group? I liked how we all co-operated with each other, even though we had some problems with the “swapping of questions” we all ended up coming to an agreement in the end. We also did our best to get the assignment done asap so in the end we would’ve only been fixing some bits and pieces and we would be prepared and ready to go. There were some times were we had disagreements with the questions and the often led to arguments. What did you learn about working as a group? That if we want to complete the task quickly, we have to all co-operate with each other or else it would just lead to arguments and no work would’ve been done. How well did you work together/cooperatively? We all worked well together because we managed to get everything done straight away Yes. Everyone put all their effort in all their assigned questions and they researched every possible information they can find to answer their questions. We all worked hard during class. How well as an individual did you work as part of the group? I worked well as an individual, I managed to get my questions done easily with no fuss Identify your strengths and weaknesses as a group member. I can work well with a group BUT sometimes I tend to distract others in the group and we start conversations and it keeps us off track from our work. Although I can distract people sometimes, we can still finish off our work. Every time we have lessons in class to work on assignments I should focus more and stop distracting others. I should keep my focus on the assignment because its a chance for me to work during class lessons (more of an extra thing since we're meant to work on it at home). Stay completely focused so I can get it done more quicker and not leave it up to last minute.

Well since my group put a bibliography on their profile, i might as well do one too (: . Here are the websites that helped me : http://www.globalclassroom.org/hemo.html http://kidshealth.org/kid/htbw/heart.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circulatory_system
They helped me answer my assigned questions (: Class hand out problems

23rd of August, 11:51am , period 3 science. I have finished answering both my questions and they are up on our powerpoint, i just have to learn what to say during the presentation. Right now, i am working on the class hand out which is going to be a find-a-word. Problem is, i have finished making the word search but it wont save. So I might just do it again at home so I can print it right after I finish making the find-a-word and I will save the words on the very blog so I can just copy and paste it. Here are the words: -arteries -blood -bloodvessels -bodycells -capillaries -cardiologists -cardiology -cardiovascular -circulation -healthy -heart -lungs -muscles -nutrients -oxygen -reoxygenation -tissues -veins -waste Some new facts ;]

So I found this picture on google and it has helped me because now I know where the veins and arteries are in our bodies. Its not very detailed, but its pretty simple to understand like the veins and arteries are all over our bodies and travel to and from our hearts. Hm , well bells going soon. So thats all for todays research, I'll probably work on this at home, and TRY to find some basic information for "What parts make up the system?".. wooo !
Problems answering the question
So I tried adding more info in my answers, this is what I ended up with: What parts make up the circulatory system? The circulatory system is made up of vessels and muscles that help control the flow of the blood around the body. The system is divided into 3 major parts. Those parts are the heart, the blood and the blood vessels. There are 3 types of blood vessels and they are arteries, capillaries and veins. The arteries are used to carry rich-oxygen blood away from the heart and then provide it to tissues, and then it returns the blood cells back to the heart through the veins for reoxygenation. With all these things happening within the body, this is known as a circulation which is how it got the name “Circulatory system” Why do we need it? The circulatory system helps us, as it provides our body cells with all the oxygen and nutrients it needs. If our body cells did not have enough oxygen and nutrients, we humans would not be able to survive. Waste like carbon dioxide is also removed by the circulatory system and it is replaced with fresh oxygen that we have breathed in through our lungs. The human circulatory is a system of vessels that distribute blood throughout our entire body. In the middle of the circulatory system is our heart which circulates blood throughout the veins and arteries, we need blood because its one of the most important things humans need to live off. So without this system we would have no blood in our bodies, we would not get all the nutrients and oxygen we need to survive, we would’ve been living with no heart (which is impossible and you would die straight away) and we would also have a lot of waste in our bodies that could possibly cause death. I think my answer for the question "What parts make up the system?" is too short but im having trouble researching more info about what parts make up the circulatory system. Even though there are some info, I dont understand what it means . ahahah (: .. i'm still looking for a site that will explain the different parts of the system more simple for me to understand . For now, its pretty hard to find a simple website that will explain the different parts of the system more clearly . The making of the powerpoint
20th of August, Period 5.. right now we are in the computer rooms working on our science assignments and Katherine is showing us the headings of the powerpoint. The headings are the questions each person is assigned so it'll look like this; Titles for each slide: Slide 1. The circulatory system Slide 2. Why do we need it? By Erica Ydia Slide 3.What parts make up the system? By Erica Ydia Slide4.How does it work? By Katherine Young Slide 5. Bad habits? By Katherine Young Slide 6.When things go wrong? By Jo-Raelene Dalco Slide 7.Good habits? By Jo-Raelene Dalco Slide 8.Which Doctor? By Keith-mae Radam Then there might be a few more extra slides and we're planning to make a cross word for the class handout and we will all work on it together (: This is what the start of our presentation looks like; AWESOME AE ?! getting there..

So tonight I decided that I should start answering the questions that were given to me. I worked on it for about an hour or so. This is what I ended up with: What parts make up the system? The circulatory system is made up of vessels and muscles that help control the flow of the blood around the body. The system is divided into 3 major parts. Those parts are the heart, the blood and the blood vessels. There are 3 types of blood vessels and they are arteries, capillaries and veins. The arteries are used to carry rich-oxygen blood away from the heart and then provide it to tissues, and then it returns the blood cells back to the heart through the veins for reoxygenation. With all these things happening within the body, all together it makes up the circulatory system. Why do we need it? The circulatory system helps us, as it provides our body cells with all the oxygen and nutrients it needs. If our body cells did not have enough oxygen and nutrients, we humans would not be able to survive. Waste like carbon dioxide is also removed by the circulatory system and it is replaced with fresh oxygen that we have breathed in through our lungs. The human circulatory is a system of vessels that distribute blood throughout our entire body. In the middle of the circulatory system is our heart which circulates blood throughout the veins and arteries. So without this system we would have no blood in our bodies, we would not get all the nutrients and oxygen we need to survive, we would’ve been living with no heart (which is impossible and you would die straight away) and we would also have a lot of waste in our bodies that could possibly cause death. So yeah. I just have to check with my group if the answers are okay and if I have to change anything around or add more information. So I'll do more research later on to see if i can find anymore facts. But thats all for now (: laters.
